Benefits of Massage
The health benefits of massage are not limited to the relaxation of individual muscles.
Because many of us live busy, high-stress lives, our nervous systems are almost constantly in a low-level state of “fight or flight.” While the body is holding itself in readiness for action, resources are diverted from systems such as immune function and digestion — systems that are a lower priority when there may be immediate physical danger. By breaking this pattern of stress and encouraging a state of relaxation, massage helps the body free up resources for repair and maintenance.
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Relieve pain, soreness, and tension
- Improve circulation
- Improve posture and motor skills
- Promote healthy muscle and connective tissue
- Improve sleep
- Increase body awareness
- Support immune function

Wellness Massage
Wellness massage reduces stress and soothes the nervous system. These full-body sessions combine Swedish and circulatory techniques, energy work, and meditative stillness to induce a profound state of relaxation. The head, neck, shoulders, back, arms, hands, legs, and feet are gently addressed in a way that grounds the client and produces a lingering sense of safety and well-being. Depending on the client's needs, the pectorals, abdomen, hips, and gluteals may also be worked. Sidelying massage is available for pregnant clients.
Chair Massage
Chair massage is available for special events at a minimum commitment of two hours. Clients sit or kneel fully clothed in a special massage chair that gives the therapist easy access to the shoulders, neck, and back. Each massage can last anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes depending on the desires of the group. This massage modality is popular in office environments to relieve tension and increase employee productivity. Soothing music and all equipment is provided. E-mail Matt directly to inquire about availability.
